tiny range - design and user research of a cybersecurity education platform.
THESIS PROJECT - UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND (HIGH DISTINCTION)
Tiny range is an intuitive education platform that provides teachers with the necessary tools and resources to create and manage cyber-learning resources.
This project identifies the key features needed for setting up proper cyber teaching environments, creating an optimal solution for non-technical educators to present and set up lessons.
The prototyping process was done with Adobe XD, Figma and other design tools.
DESIGN PROCESS
The primary goals of the project are to design an intuitive, user-friendly interface prototype of a cyber-teaching platform that does not require any prior knowledge to operate, and to identify key features needed for teachers to set up cybersecurity environments.
The platform design is iteratively improved through continuous user testing and prototyping, incorporating feedback to ensure ongoing development and refinement
Lesson planner structure where educator’s can set up individual cyber ranges with customizability options.
Student Performance Tracker functionality
Iterative Medium Fidelity Prototypes based on user research.
SUMMARY OF OUTCOMES
The project addressed all of the research questions and goals that were stated from the start. The key design features of the cyber-teaching platform were identified and implemented.
These features include a comprehensive lesson planner, a student performance tracking feature, a navigable dashboard, a cyber exercise creation feature, and a student platform preview feature. User testing and feedback played a crucial role in refining and improving the platform’s design.
